Inspiration and Ideas

On this page, we offer a few things we find inspirational.

Sometimes you just need a few words of comfort, a consoling image, or ideas for celebrating the life you shared with your animal companion.

Grieving takes time

It can take several weeks to accept the absence of a pet. Create a 21-day ritual of intention for yourself and your departed friend. Each time you enact the ritual, be aware of your intent to release your friend to another state of being. Share your ritual with others in the family who also need to let go of the emotion.

View our testimonials that will take you to thoughts and photos of our departed animal friends which were submitted by their families.

A few other inspirational and thoughtful ideas that may help during troubled times:

  • Create a "touch stone" for yourself. Find a small figurine, a toy or some other object that reminds you of your companion. For 21 days, each evening before bed, simply tap it and say, "goodnight" or "rest well" or some other phrase that's more meaningful to you.

  • For 21 days, light a well-protected votive candle and each evening before bed, extinguish the candle by exhaling very deeply with an intention of release.

  • Buy a battery-powered LED "candle." Turn it on with the intention to wish your pet well. Allow the light to remain on continuously until the battery power runs down.

  • Write a letter to your absent animal friend. Then, "mail it" by burning it outside, in a metal bowl. Pour the cooled ashes on the ground.

  • Carry a "talisman" in your pocket that you can touch at moments when feelings of grief seem to take over.

Set the intention for yourself, that your ritual will calm your emotions and that your new life-routine will emerge comfortably as the days pass.
